摘要
A large part of the gyrotron R&D activities at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology focus on addressing challenging requirements posed on gyrotrons by the European concept for a demonstration fusion power plant (EU DEMO). This paper reports on the progress of these activities and on the recent results. Extensive theoretical and experimental investigations are ongoing at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) within the Work Package Heating and Current Drive (WPHCD), coordinated by the Power Plant Physics and Technology (PPPT) Department of EUROfusion. The focus is on gyrotron R&D, which is necessary for meeting the needs of the envisaged Electron Cyclotron (EC) heating and current drive system for a European demonstration fusion power plant (EU DEMO) [1].
