•A calibration and navigation algorithm for local positioning systems is proposed.•The calibration and navigation process is carried out simultaneously by a robot.•The algorithm is based on multiple Bayesian filters running in parallel.•The proposal allows calibrating and navigating with decimeter accuracy.
