Severe hypertransaminasemia: Rotavirus and ibuprofene synergical effect?

Introduction: Rotavirus may cause a self resolving very mild acute hypertransaminasemia (<3 × unl) due to its proposed hepatotropism. Ibuprofen, in spite of a very low liver toxicity incidence (short plasma half-life and absence of pathological metabolites) has been reported to possibly increase the risk of liver injury in patients with chronic hepatitis C.
