Stochastic degradation of the fixed-point version of 2D-chaotic maps

•There is an increasing interest in using digital chaos in a large number of electronic applications.•Digitalization process degrades both the length and statistical properties of chaotic sequences.•Causal and non causal entropies, sequence length and MLE were employed to characterize the maps degradation.•Minimum fractional length that preserves attractions domain integrity has been determined.
