Breast screening: What can the interval cancer review teach us? Are we perhaps being a bit too hard on ourselves?
European Journal of Radiology(2017)
摘要
•The study shows the simple step of blinding readers to cancer location leads to reduction in the ascribed missed cancer rate of 17%.•If methodology applied by Payne et al. [15], whereby interval cancers were missed when detected by 2 readers retrospectively, the missed cancer rate is 39%.•The commonest unanimously and retrospectively detected sign of a “missed” cancer was microcalcification and the most challenging was asymmetric density.
