摘要
Background: With access to antiretroviral therapies people are living longer with HIV and experiencing disability related to the virus and side effects of medication. Additionally, persons living with HIV experience co-morbidities associated with aging such as premature onset of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and bone and joint disorders. Although well established in other chronic conditions the role of physiotherapy with older adults living with HIV is still emerging. Systematically developed guidelines are essential to promoting evidence based practice and to optimize care in persons living with HIV as they age.
