New Mandibular Position Setting For An Esthetic, Occlusal And Postural Improvement: From Diagnosis To Treatment Plan

Using the E.F.P. (Esthetics-Function-Posture) approach it is possible to improve the smile, the occlusion and the posture of the patient with a single treatment. The basic principles of the E.F.P. approach have been explained in the first part of this ECM course. In this second module, the diagnostic steps and the clinical procedures necessary to detect a new mandibular position (balanced from a muscular/articular/postural point of view and useful to successfully place esthetics adhesive restorations) will be explained in detail. Furthermore, the manufacture and the use of the E.F.P. Fixed Bites will be described. Those devices that are at the same time fixed but reversible, allow the temporary stabilization of the mandible in the new balanced therapeutic position and the follow-up of the patient's adaptive responses over time with no biological cost.
