摘要

•An ESIPT-based fluorescent probe was reported for determination of methanol in biodiesel.•Ratiometric fluorescent response with a large chromatic shift was achieved.•The methanol-sensing mechanism has been studied by fluorescence spectra and time-resolved fluorescence decay.
