摘要
Rationale: Increased risk for obesity and altered glucose metabolism in offspring born to mothers with obesity and/or gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has been frequently reported. This study aims to identify the impact of maternal prepregnancy BMI (pBMI) and GDM on the metabolic profiles in both maternal and cord blood. We assume that the maternal status (obesity or GDM) negatively impacts the metabolic status of the mother consequently affecting the intrauterine milieu with potential unfavored neonatal outcomes.
