摘要

•O2 plasma treatment introduced negatively charged groups to PCL surface.•Nucleation of CaP on PCL occurred via Volmer–Weber and Stranski–Krastanov modes.•The CaP phases evolves from having low Ca/P ratios to higher Ca/P ratios.•CaP formed through Volmer–Weber mode were rich in the CaP phases of high Ca/P ratios.•These findings are important in developing CaP coating suitable for specific needs.
