A self-heating oxygen pump using microchanneled ceramic membranes for portable oxygen supply

•Integrates oxygen pumping with electrical Joule heating on ceramic membranes for portable oxygen supply.•This oxygen supply system using ceramic membranes can be operated without a constant heating source.•The oxygen pump generates more than 20 ml cm−2 min−1 oxygen at an environmental temperature lower than 200 °C.
