Robust rigid registration algorithm based on pointwise correspondence and correntropy

•Correntropy is introduced to the registration problem as a distance metric.•A closed-form solution is given out at each iterative step of the algorithm.•Pointwise correspondences are used to make sure the efficiency.•It's a general framework for m-D point set registration.
