Development of Interprofessional Simulation in Nursing Education to Improve Teamwork and Collaboration in Maternal Child Nursing

To increase new graduate nurses’ confidence in communicating with all members of the health care team. In 2010, the Institute of Medicine’s Future of Nursing report called for nursing participation in interdisciplinary teams. The participation of nurses in these teams increases collaboration, patient safety, and patient satisfaction in the health care environment.
