摘要
International speech-language pathology programs aim to provide services that are culturally relevant, holistic, and sustainable within a biopsychosocial model of health care. International settings with limited resources and/or lack of access to trained speech-language pathologists necessitate a service delivery model that involves multiple professionals to identify and reach individuals in need, provide comprehensive health care services, and facilitate communication and cultural competence between the patient and the foreign professional. This article describes an interprofessional service delivery model for service provision in a resource-poor environment based on clinical experiences working in rural Cambodia. A case study is provided to illustrate the implementation of each step of the model. The principles of the model may be applied to other international populations with limited resources.
