Multi-resolution networks for ship detection in infrared remote sensing images

•We propose a ship detection net to better utilize multiple images of different modalities and resolutions.•We use focal loss to handle foreground-background imbalance problem.•Our net achieves good recall and precision even without sea-land segmentation.
