•A new design for perovskite solar cell including kesterite particles is introduced.•Low bandgap kesterite particles improve the light absorption of MAPbI3 solar cell.•The plasmonic nanostructure acts as a light-trapping structure.•Totally, a highly efficient MAPbI3 solar cell is presented.
