Brca Mutation Testing For First-Degree Relatives Of Women With High-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer

•Women with high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) have a 20% risk of carrying a BRCA mutation.•Many women with HGSC are untested for BRCA mutations, and their first-degree relatives may be ineligible for BRCA testing.•BRCA testing for first-degree relatives of women with HGSC is cost-effective when BRCA status is unknown.•BRCA testing with subsequent risk-reducing surgery is more effective and less costly than surgery alone.
