Angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy study of the spin-charge separation in the strongly correlated cuprates SrCuO 2 and Sr 2 CuO 3 with S = 0 impurities

摘要
•ARPES study of SrCuO2 and Sr2CuO3 substituted with 1% non-magnetic impurities, moving the systems away from their half-filling.•Investigate the impact of the opening of the spin pseudogap, resulting from chains segmentation, on the spin-charge separation in both cuprates.•The energy position of the spinon band is shown to remain constant even after substitution.•The antiferromagnetic superexchange constant and the electronic hopping constants also seem insensitive to the presence of impurities.•Study of higher doping levels or use of better ARPES experimental resolution to evidence the expected decoupling of spin and charge degrees of freedom.
