Kinetic modeling and optimization of biodiesel production from white mustard ( Sinapis alba L.) seed oil by quicklime-catalyzed transesterification

•White mustard seed oil (WMSO) and quicklime are used for biodiesel production.•No solid catalyst has been used so far for transesterification of WMSO.•WMSO transesterification over quicklime was optimized using a full factorial design.•Performances of two kinetic models are compared to select the more effective one.•Homogeneous and heterogeneous WMSO transesterification are compared.
