Robust information encryption diffractive-imaging-based scheme with special phase retrieval algorithm for a customized data container

•We propose a new encryption method in diffractive-imaging-based scheme using customized data container.•A novel phase retrieval algorithm uniting input support constraint and median-filtering is proposed.•The proposal ensures totally recovery of the plaintext in case of heavy noise or occlusion.
