摘要

•A novel switchable chain transfer monomer, VPDC, was designed.•Hyperbranched polystyrene was obtained by polymerization of VPDC.•The obtained PVPDC works as a macro-CTA for RAFT polymerization.•The activity of the CTA is switchable by protonation and deprotonation.•Star-shaped block copolymers can be easily obtained with various monomers.
