Influence of pressure on fluidized bed gasifier: Specific coal throughput and particle behavior

•Anthracite has been tested on a large diameter PFB gasifier at high pressure.•The specific throughput is proportional to the pressure to the power of 0.6–0.75.•Co-gasification leads to successful thermochemical conversion of Jincheng anthracite.•Significant difference in the vertical local-particle velocities can be obtained.
