Information association methodology and application for integrated wide area protection and control

The information fusion technology has achieved rapid development. It is applied gradually in the wide area protection and control to enhance adaptive performance. This paper presents a method of associating the primary and secondary information, and then gives a detailed application description about the information topology modeling and the topology analysis process. The information association methodology provides a general way to acquire the real-time information relationship range between the grid and the secondary intermediate calculation data. It determines the input sources for the fusion algorithm. With two independent topology networks, the flexible topology analysis process has been designed to use the information relationship. Based on the operation grid status, the real-time information relationship can be calculated. The logical device object is used as the key point to simplify the information relationship topology analysis, which is defined in IEC 61850. In conclusion, the proposed method can support the adaptive algorithm of the information fusion application in the Integrated Wide Area Protection and Control system. It can be applied in the protection and control systems based on IEC 61850.
