摘要

•Tapered SMS fiber structures are accurately fabricated through HF etch.•The etch can accurately turn the SIP of the SMS sensor to increase the sensitivity.•The etched structure responses more easily comparing to the unetched one.•This is a very feasible method to fabricate a high sensitivity acoustic sensor.
