The most advantage of cloud computing is that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort. Thus, the inherent needs of cloud computing are short response time and high throughput. However, once it encounters bursts of high concurrent access, the QoS(Quality of Service) of the user service difficult to be guaranteed. This paper focuses on the scheduling strategy of minimizing the transmission time of workflow and at the meanwhile make sure the total completion time of multimedia application is minimal. To generate an efficient execution plan, we optimize the critical path algorithm of the workflow. To shorten the completion time under certain resources and significantly improve the efficiency and simultaneously spend less time, we propose and implement the combination of two tasks linked by edge on the critical path. The result of experiment shows that our mechanism can reduce the execution time of the cloud multimedia application, and optimize the user's QoS.
