摘要

•The extractant dinonylnaphthalene sulfonic acid (DNNS) was purified.•A polymer inclusion membrane contained 35% DNNS, 55% PVC and 10% tetradecanol.•Its surface morphology and selectivity for common metal cations was determined.•The selectivity order is Fe3+ > Ca2+ > Pb2+ > Zn2+ > Cu2+ > Ni2+ > Mg2+ > Na+ ≈ K+.•The stoichiometry of the DNNS adducts with these metal ions was determined.
