摘要

•Ligand exchange reactions, starting from preformed hydrogenated AuNP, were performed to obtain fluorinated AuNP.•The composition of the resulting mixed fluorinated and hydrogenated AuNP was investigated using XPS and FTIR techniques.•AuNP shell composition and stability derived from initial fluorinated/hydrogenated ligand ratio and chosen exchange route.
