A Novel Device For Estimating Olfactory Threshold For Differential Diagnosis Of Parkinsonian Syndrome: A Pilot Study

Background: Olfaction tests may offer diagnostic utility for differentiating Parkinson’s disease (PD) from other parkinsonian disorders. Olfactory dysfunction in PD involves all three olfactory elements: threshold, discrimination, and identification. Most olfaction tests are based on the identification of odors, which might be influenced by verbal ability and cultural background.
