Background: Cognitive impairment associated with lesions in the head of the caudate nucleus or the genu of the internal capsule have been well recognized, which are referred to as ‘strategic site’ infarcts. In contrast, cognitive profiles of damage to the territory of lenticulostriate arteries (LSA), which supplies the lentiform nucleus and corona radiata, are largely unknown.
