Detailing of concrete-to-concrete interfaces for improved ductility

•The behaviour of casting interfaces under shear and bending is experimentally assessed.•Different and alternative designs to improve ductility were tested.•Epoxy and latex based adhesion promoters have a negligible effect on ductility.•Web reinforcement proved to be much more efficient improving interface behaviour.•As well as the adoption of perpendicular or parallel interfaces to the expected shear cracks.
