Fano Resonances In Gold Heptamer Nano-Hole Arrays

Arrays of gold heptamer arranged nanoholes have been studied numerically, revealing that such structures support several Fano resonances in their transmittance spectra. By observing near-field distributions and altering the structural parameters, the mechanisms behind the generation of these Fano resonances have been elucidated. We also examine the structures for biosensing applications by calculating their bulk and surface sensitivities, and also their Figure of Merit (FoM).
