摘要

•Anionic vesicles were used as soft templates for the synthesis of hollow Cu2O spheres for the first time.•The transcription from vesicles to hollow Cu2O spheres was achieved through an in situ reduction approach.•The hollow Cu2O spheres showed preferable adsorption capacity for methyl orange in the dark.
