摘要

•Effect of BiOI content on photocatalytic activity of Bi2WO6/BiOI/Allophane is studied.•Highest photocatalytic activity is obtained with Bi2WO6:BiOI molar ratio of 1:0.5.•Adsorption and photocatalytic activity decrease with increasing the BiOI content.•Allophane promotes adsorption of acetaldehyde molecules on the prepared composite.•Results of molecular dynamics simulation are consistent with experimental results.
