D-STC: Deep learning with spatio-temporal constraints for train drivers detection from videos

•A new framework D-STC combing Faster R-CNN with spatio-temporal constraints is introduced for the train driver detection.•The D-STC has good compatibility, which can make full use of any excellent object detector based on deep learning.•The D-STC can achieve more precise detection for video sequence due to the integration of different constraints.
