Passive Localization Of Scan-Based Emitters Based On Maximum Likelihood Algorithm

A maximum likelihood algorithm is proposed in this paper to locate scan-based emitter in the condition of unknown scan rate. This method projects each time difference measurements to the target state space, and then fused estimate of target state can be obtained by modification and iterative calculation for scan rate and target state, avoiding the poor accuracy of scan rate by jointly estimation for moving target. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can obtain effective estimates of the target states and scan rate, respectively. And its performance is more robust compared with the nonlinear least-squares algorithm when noise is large.
