Comprehensive life support: Superior outcome in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest by improving the whole chain of survival

Purpose of the study: Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is associated with high mortality and a favorable outcome is lower than 10% in most regions worldwide. Favorable outcome strongly depends on all parts of the so called Chain of Survival and seems to be influenced by multiple factors. For this reason we established a concept of comprehensive life support improving all links of the chain of survival in OHCA in order to increase the survival with favorable outcome.
