Geochemical and Nd-isotopic compositions of juvenile-type Paleoproterozoic Birimian sedimentary rocks from southeastern West African Craton (Ghana): Constraints on provenance and tectonic setting

•The sediments were derived from rocks of mixed felsic and mafic compositions.•Young Undifferentiated Arc provenance is inferred for the sediments.•Nd-isotopic systematics suggest a dominant provenance of Paleoproterozoic crust with little older Archean crust component.•The bulk of the detritus was supplied by adjacent Paleoproterozoic Birimian greenstone belts.•The sediments were deposited in an Oceanic Island Arc setting.
