摘要
1076Background: TNBC lacks expression of steroid hormone receptors and HER2. This phenotype shows high metastatic potential, with particular predilection to lungs and brain. Determination of genetic profiles specific for BM-prone TNBC might identify high-risk patients requiring the use of alternative, more aggressive or specific preventive and therapeutic approaches. Methods: Using cDNA-mediated Annealing, Selection, Extension and Ligation (DASL) assay, we investigated expression of 29,369 gene transcripts in primary TNBC samples from discovery Cohort A (71 patients) and independent Cohort B (48 patients), derived from a consecutive series of 324 advanced TNBC treated in 17 oncology centers in Poland and Italy between 1997 and 2013. Expression of mRNA was correlated with the occurrence of symptomatic BM. Results: The patient median age at primary tumor diagnosis and at BM was 58 years (range 28-82) and 56 years (range 38-79), respectively, 74% of patients were postmenopausal, and the majority of tumors we...
