摘要
The applications of medical imaging systems using radiation are expanding in the clinical field because of the various advantages of the systems. In medical X-ray imaging, detectors generally employ a flat panel structure, which has several disadvantages for diagnostic X-ray imaging over a bendable structure. One of the various disadvantages is that the structure cannot perfectly represent the shape of the human body. For this reason, distortions are generated owing to differences in the magnification ratios. Therefore, the objective of the present study is to develop an indirect imaging detector based on a bendable phosphor screen, particularly for applications in radiography. For these purposes, the luminescence properties of the X-ray images obtained using the bendable phosphor were determined and then compared with those of a non-bendable phosphor screen. Our study confirms that an indirect-type X-ray imaging detector can be developed by using a bendable phosphor screen appropriate for the energy used in that particular medical imaging technique.
