e14602 Background: Patients with multiple colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) are always considered in an intention to resect all metastases (R0/R1resection). However technical constraints make that sometimes no more than a R2 (incomplete) resection can be achieved, The results of these procedures of debulking surgery in CRLM have never been evaluated in a period of increasing efficacy of chemotherapy Methods: The study consists in a retrospective analysis of all the consecutive patients with CRLM treated by a first R2 liver resection, from 1994 to 2012 at a single center Characteristics of patients (age, sex), of metastases (date of diagnosis, number and size, tumor markers), of chemotherapy received preoperatively (type, number of cycles, response according to Recist criteria) and of liver surgery (date, cause for R2) were correlated to the patient outcome.
