Traceable technique to calibrate current coils for calibration of the power clamp meters in AC current range up to 1000 A

•Authors developed the new parameter of current coil that they named PCE.•There are proposed the calibration method and the calibration procedure.•There is proposed the automatic system to determine ACE and PCE of current coils.•Power error due to the influence of PCE is higher than accuracy class of meters.•It is obvious that influence of the PCE cannot be omitted.
