In article number 1603923, by Christof M. Niemeyer and co-workers, DNA substrate modification and replication by thermoforming is demonstrated, and named DNA-SMART. The DNA-SMART technique enables the creation of complex patterns of multiple different biomolecules within 3D microstructured polymer substrates. The novel methodology has been applied to fabricate microfluidic channels for selective capture of living cells under flow conditions.
