摘要
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is highly effective and durable for the treatment of dysplastic Barrett’s esophagus (BE). Treatment usually consists of a circumferential RFA supplemented by one or more focal RFA sessions. For focal RFA a simplified regimen (3x15J/cm2-no clean) has proven equally effective as the standard (2x15J/cm2-clean-2x15J/cm2) regimen1. Advantages of the simplified regimen include less introductions of the endoscope and shorter procedure time. Unfortunately, this simplified regimen was associated with a higher stricture rate. Therefore, we lowered RF-energy to 12J/cm2 and we now hypothesize that this new simplified regimen (3x12J/cm2-no clean) is as effective and safe as the standard regimen for the treatment of dysplastic BE.
