摘要

•The aggregation and oxidation issues of FeS nanoparticles were addressed by Al2O3 loading.•Highly effective mercury uptake by FeS/Al2O3 was achieved.•FeS/Al2O3 possesses good tolerance to pH, Cl− and competing ions.•FeS/Al2O3 showed outstanding adsorption activity and stability after preserved for 30days.
