A method for simultaneous estimation of groundwater evapotranspiration and inflow rates in the discharge area using seasonal water table fluctuations

•The diurnal WTF is controlled by atmospheric pressure instead of evapotranspiration.•Seasonal WTF is used to quantify the GW evapotranspiration and inflow.•The ratio of GW inflow to GW recharge indicates the role on groundwater balance.•The ratio of GW recharge to evapotranspiration indicates the top boundary condition.
