Experimental assessment of the dynamic behaviour of the train-track system at a culvert transition zone

•Track dynamic stiffness was characterized along the transition by receptance tests.•Dynamic response of the track was monitored in different track sections.•Monitoring of the passage of the Alfa Pendular trains at a speed of 220km/h.•Rail displacements and sleepers acceleration were registered along the transition.•Synchronised monitoring of the track and vehicle dynamic responses were carried out.
