•Track dynamic stiffness was characterized along the transition by receptance tests.•Dynamic response of the track was monitored in different track sections.•Monitoring of the passage of the Alfa Pendular trains at a speed of 220km/h.•Rail displacements and sleepers acceleration were registered along the transition.•Synchronised monitoring of the track and vehicle dynamic responses were carried out.
