摘要
Severe in-vehicle air quality may affect drivers and passengers' health and reduce customers' satisfaction or experience with the vehicles, especially in some areas with heavy pollutants. Nowadays, in-vehicle cabin air quality management draws more attention from automakers. The advances in climate control include improved filtering systems and advanced climate control management based on air quality parameters from the in-cabin and external sensors. The proliferation of connected car technologies and data analytics provides opportunities for an efficient and effective cloud-based architecture for vehicle climate control management. The paper introduces analytical models for air quality mapping and discusses the design of a scientific experiment to test the effectiveness of cloud-based analytics under different scenarios. In our experiments we leverage SmartDeviceLink™ (SDL) technology that seamlessly integrates smartphone applications with the Ford SYNC infotainment system and allows programmatic vehicle management of climate control settings. This approach allows integrating portable after-market sensors and cloud-based analytics into the climate control loop.
