摘要

•We propose a core set of eight farm scale habitat descriptors.•The descriptors were tested on 195 farms across Europe.•Habitat descriptors can enable policymakers to evaluate agri-environmental measures.•Habitat maps provide a basis for species sampling and for ground truthing of remotely sensed information.
