Ca. 1050 Ma intra-continental rift-related A-type felsic rocks in the southwestern Yangtze Block, South China

•The ca. 1.05Ga dacites, rhyolites and granites have A-type affinity.•The dacites were originated from partial melting of the ancient continental crust.•The rhyolites and granites were generated by remelting of newly formed continental crust.•The A-type granitoids have formed in a continent rifting setting.•This work does not support the existence of a Grenvillian orogenic belt in SW YZB.
