Photonic digital-to-analog conversion and M-PAM signal generation via direct-digital-drive microring modulator

摘要
A digital-to-analog converter and M-PAM modulator based on a single microring resonator is demonstrated. The multi-electrode approach enables to control the modulator directly with digital signals and amend any nonlinearities such as the microring inherent non-linearity and voltage-dependent-losses.
